Dunkerque (Dunkirk) 1940

In May 1940 Germany launched in Northern France and Belgium. In the space of just a few days, the German army had pushed through and the allies were retreating towards the North. Fearing that its troops would be trapped, Britain decided to evacuate the troops retreating on Dunkirk by sea. The Operation Dynamo succeeded in evacuating more than 338,000 British and French soldiers to England, in only nine days.

 

You will discover the town of Dunkerque, some buildings still have damage from the 1940 campaign. The tour includes a visit to the Operation Dynamo museum in the old Bastion 32, the cemetery and memorial to the missing and different stops on the beach along the way.
