Sylvestre BRESSON, an amateur historian, set up "Terres de Mémoire" ("Fields of Remembrance") in 2006. His biggest wish was to turn his passion into a job and he has never been happier. He enjoys nothing more than sharing his passion both for the two World Wars and local culture and knows all the best places to visit, from German bunkers to restaurants serving the finest local produce ! He takes pleasure walking the battlefields, investigating soldiers history and exploring less known areas. Sylvestre has contributed to various conferences, talks, articles and some T.V programmes. He is the co-author of the Michelin Guide Book of the Somme Battlefields and currently working on a new guide book about Lille in the war 1914-18 (soon to be published).

Sylvestre was awarded the Medal of Tourism in 2023 for his work on the battlefields.
