Terres de Memoire is a French company specialising in First World War Battlefield Tours. We are based in the historic town of Péronne at the heart of the Somme Battlefields.
Run by a passionate Great War enthusiast, Sylvestre Bresson, Terres de Memoire is already highly regarded for the quality of its visits. We take pride in using only local guides who are not only extremely knowledgeable about their subject but also the local culture.

Our individual tours are kept to small groups – eight people is the maximum – this means that we can leave the beaten track and explore other areas, we can certainly fit plenty into a day and we will do our utmost to make sure any private requests ( for cemeteries or memorials, etc.) are met. We fully understand and respect the importance of making a visit to a family member’s grave and will make this our priority for the tour*.

Our day tours generally start and finish in AMIENS. This is a very convenient one hour train trip from Paris with trains running frequently.

Naturally, Terres de Memoire is a fully certified and registered company complying to the strict French transportation legislation. All of our vehicles are comfortable, top-of the range, air-conditioned vehicles.

Day tours of the Somme 1916 & 1918 Battlefields are available every day

This tour visits Villers-Bretonneux, Pozières, Thiepval, Beaumont Hamel and many other sites depending on demand. …but for those who have more time why not stay over-night in the charming city of Amiens, and join us for a second day heading north and visiting the Fromelles, Arras & Bullecourt Battlefields. To complete your Battlefields Visit a third day of touring is also possible. On this day we would visit the surrounding battlefields of Ypres, including the Messines’s Ridge, Hill 60, Passchendaele, etc. We can also provide Private Tours which is a very convenient way of visiting the Battlefields - Either to follow a normal itinerary, but with the privacy and comfort of having your own personal guide and vehicle, or to enable you to visit or spend more time in areas of specific interest to you. Terres de Memoire can also help you plan this tailor made visit. Please contact us for more information about any of our tours. *Please bear in mind that the Western Front is a vast area and we can only visit the cemeteries which are a reasonable distance from the original itinerary and on prior request.
