Mont Saint-Quentin (Peronne) 2018 commemoration

1st and 2nd September 2018

To commemorate the famous assault of the A.I.F on the Mont Saint Quentin in 1918 and the liberation of Peronne we run a Special 2 Day Tour on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd September 2018.

The number of people for this tour is limited to 16 people maximum !

 

Saturday 1st September 2018

pick-up at AMIENS

Drive to the valley of the Somme, Clery and the crossing of the Somme river by the AIF. A walk to follow in the footsteps of the australians is organized on that day from Peronne to Assevillers and Cecil Healy's grave, a well known swimmer awarded the Gold medal at the Olympics before the war.

On the afternoon we will drive to the 1916 battlefields where the AIF launched its first major offensive at Pozieres: the 1st AIF division memorial and the "Gibraltar" bunker. Then we will continue the visit to the 1916 battlefields

Overnight at AMIENS

Sunday 2nd September 2018

pick-up at AMIENS

Drive to Villers-Bretonneux to visit to the Australian memorial, the new John Monash center and the Victoria School museum. We will visit Le Hamel memorial, the great Monash's victory.

Afternoon drive to Peronne to attend the commemoration service for the battle of Mt St-Quentin.

Drive back to AMIENS in the evening
