Delville wood - Longueval

In the heart of this Wood – named Devil’s Wood by the soldiers two structures commemorate South African soldiers who were to fight here. Out of 3200 men who took part in the attack , only 143 came back five days later.
Also to be found in the village of Longuval is the New Zealand Division Memorial and the Piper’s Memorial.
