The South Nottinghamshire Hussars
During the 1st World War this regiment served in Egypt, at Gallipoli, Salonica and Palestine. They were awarded many decorations during the Dardanelles Campaign at Suvla and Scimitar Hill.
In 1918, the South Nottinghamshire Hussars were amalgamated with the Warwickshire Yeomanry to form a Machine Gun Battalion.
The regiment arrived on the Western Front and participated in the assault of the Hidenberg Line. Their battle honours include The Hidenberg Line, Epehy, The St Quentin Canal, Beauregard, Selle, Sambre and France & Flanders 1918.
